Palma, February 13, 2014.- The Deputy Mayor of Economia, Hisenda i Innovació, Julio Martínez, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor of Funció Pública e Interior, Irene San Gil and the Deputy Mayor of Comerç, Traball, Joventut i Participació Ciutadana, Esperanza Crespí, have gathered together today with the platform "Balears diu, no", which has positioned against the oil prospecting in the Mediterranean of the Autonomous Community.

During the meeting, it has confirmed the rejection commitment of the Town Council of Palma to the oil prospecting in the Balearic waters since this action will damage the marine environment and the Islands as a tourist destination.

Cort has also committed to support the campaign that the platform carries out to facilitate to the maximum the delivery to the Ministry of the statements that are submitted in the municipal offices.
