Cort opens to the public roads and green zones included in the housing development field near to Estadi Balear.

The Town planning area has issued a favourable report to proceed to the reception of this zone and the opening has been made this morning.

Palma, 18th of September 2012.- Municipal technicians of Town Planning area have proceeded in the course of today morning to the opening of 23,152m2 of roads for vehicle traffic and other 12,261 m2 of gree zone located within housing development field UE 69-02 near to Estadi Balear. The opening to the public use of this area of the city is produced every time that from the Town Planning has been issued a favourable report to proceed to its reception.

The road direction open today won't be the definitive since it is conditioned by provisional diversions which have had to be carried out as a consequence of the road works of the plan "intersection of the Ma-20 with the Ma-15 through the Ma-3018 (Balears tunnel)" of the Consell de Mallorca.

The opening of these roads integrate the Son Güells housing development giving exit to the Vía de Cintura, at the same time enable to a greater connectivity within this field of action and also with the neighbourhoods of Son Gotleu and Es Rafal. It also provide the above-mentioned field with a wide expanse of parking in cord that can benefit both neighbours and enthusiasts who go to the Club Atlètic Balears match when play at home. 

As regards the 12,261 m2 of green zone received, these are distributed in 3 spaces, one of 8,444 m2 annexed to the Estadi Balear endowed with walk areas and children equipment, and other of 2,687 m2 useful also with walk area that crosses the torrent channel of Na Bàrbara and it's located by George Sand street. A mill has been rebuilt in the last space with the authorization of the Comissió del Centre Històric. The third green space in a strip between George Sand Street and the torrent channel of na Bàrbara.

The opening to the public use of this area hasn't had any additional cost for tha Town Council of Palma. The housing development field UE 69-02 planned in the Pla General d'Ordenació Urbanística (PGOU of 1998 have a total surface of 80,277 m2 of which 35,413 m2 are nonprofit spaces and include the 12,261 m2 of open spaces and the 23,152 m2 of roads.
