Summer sport and leisure camps 2010

The councillor for Sports of the Town Hall of Palma and President of the Municipal Sports Institute (IME), M. Isabel Gonzalez, and the Director-General for Sports, Juan Valenzuela, introduced today during the course of a press conference, the Summer sport and leisure camps 2010.



These summer camps, which are aimed at children between the age of 3 and 14 years living in Palma, aim to offer children a wide programme of sport and leisure activities, adapted to their age, during the school summer holiday period. A total of 900 places are offered across the different neighbourhoods of Palma via the following municipal sports centres: Germans Escalas sports centre (Rafal Vell), Son Hugo swimming pool (Son Oliva), CF La Porciúncula (S'Arenal), Rudy Fernández sports centre (Gènova and Sant Agustí), Antoni Servera sports centre (S'Arenal), Son Cotoner sports centre (Son Cotoner) and the Son Roca swimming pool (Son Roca).

Summer sport and leisure camps 2010

The summer camps will be held in four different periods, to give each family the option to choose the summer camp for which they wish to sign up their child. The first summer camp will be held between the 21st and 30th June, the second and third summer camps will be held during the months of July and August (registration is possible either for the entire month or for the first or second fortnight of the month) and the fourth period lies between 1st and 10th September. It is expected that more than 4,000 children will be signing up to the summer camps.
